The second day and we’re really hitting our stride now. We’re keen for you to understand the benefits of a relationship with DataQuest Group, when considering a Cloud solution, either as an option to your existing provision or as a first choice, if your new to Cloud.
Cloud is not really new, it’s just a different way of describing compute resource and is an operating model, not a destination. The term was first adopted around the start of the millennium, when Salesforce demonstrated the successful use of Cloud computing, making software programs available for users via the Internet.
In reality experience within our group goes back almost four decades, but from a Cloud perspective, you just need to know we were there at the start and have forgotten more about Cloud than most of the Johnny-come-lately types will ever know.
Of course, the question is, if it’s not new and is a well-understood technology, why should you look for experience from your chosen service provider? The simple answer is, because Cloud has a lot of moving parts and it takes real experience to tailor the solution to your exact needs, first time on time.
On day one we explained the benefit of our total Cloud solution, which does involve a lot of technology, with servers sitting in resilient, highly secure data centres offering almost 100% availability, but unless your Private Cloud is shaped by people who really understand your objectives, it might not deliver what you need.
You will undoubtedly see a lot of Cloud information focussed on the technology, with the numbers used to portray the speed of data transfer, the size of the storage resources, numbers of servers, number of clients, etc., but there is always a service provider with bigger numbers,
But when it comes to experience, you either have it like we do, or you focus on the technology. We were there at the start and have added to our experience through witnessing and resolving just about any conceivable issue with Cloud specifications and builds, across Private, Public and Hybrid solutions.
There is a process to migrate your data and discovering what you have, where it is and how much better it can perform requires a lot of diligent effort, by technical people who have done it hundreds of times before and know what can go wrong when approached from a technology perspective rather than a service perspective.
You might have technical resources in-house and when it’s all set up and ready to go, they can handle everything from then on, which is why we offer a self-managed option, where we just build your Private Cloud and deliver your managed services with an automated platform.
We recognise however, that many of you are looking for a Cloud to support your business objectives that allows you to do what you do best, while we ensure the lights stay on. If this sounds appealing, you will want our fully-managed option, with our technical teams managing and maintaining your services.
It would have been nice to offer some picture of our technical elves, but most are camera-shy, so you’ll have to take our word for it, but arrange a meeting and you we’ll introduce a few of the talented individuals we rely on to keep our service in peak condition, more turtle-neck sweaters than doves, but you get the idea.
And of course, as you would expect from a service provider with our experience, there are a range of options available to you between self-managed and fully managed, which we can discuss when we meet to understand your capabilities and what you really need from your Cloud.
If you want more details about what we do and how we do it, please get in touch with our resident Cloud wiseman Chris Baker on 0333 800 8800 or email [email protected].
